The history between Malaysia and China goes far beyond the 45 years of diplomatic relations. From various accounts and stories we learn that the historical and cultural interactions between the two lands have been taking place since nearly 2000 years ago. After the establishment of diplomatic tie following the founding of their countries, the Malaysian Chinese, the ethnic Hokkien and Hokkien associations have been playing prominent roles in maintaining the robust relationship between the two countries.
The book contents written accounts and pictures of political events and diplomatic activities between Malaysia and China, exploring such areas and perspectives as their shared history over the past 2000 years, their present economic relations, Chinese clan associations especially Hokkien descents in Malaysia and their prominent Malaysian Chinese figures, and in so doing retraces the significant events where the two cultures met since the beginning of history.

With over 300 carefully selected pictures, accompanied by descriptions in Chinese and English as well as historical objects, records and publications, this book hopes to delve into the nature of interaction between the two countries both at the official level and among the people, so as to bring to light the many facets of the relationship between Malaysia and China, and what this relationship has achieved.
